Frequently Asked Questions about Wooden Pallets, Crates and ISPM 15
This FAQ covers common questions about wooden pallets, wooden crates, ISPM 15 (HT) treatment, load capacity and pallet collars. We manufacture to measure and deliver across Croatia and abroad with the required documentation.
ISPM 15 & certifications
Do you provide phytosanitary treatment (ISPM 15) for pallets/crates/components?
Yes. We arrange heat treatment (HT) in an authorised kiln according to ISPM 15, with the IPPC/HT mark and accompanying documentation (Croatian or other languages if needed).
Is the ISPM 15 treatment included in the price?
On request. The offer clearly states whether HT is included; if not, we can add it at an extra charge.
Do you have a stamp/mark for the phytosanitary treatment?
Yes – via an authorised facility. Treatment and marking are performed in line with regulations; products carry the IPPC/HT mark and we provide a certificate.
Do you hold relevant certificates (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISPM 15, FSC)?
Available on request. We provide certificate status (copies/statements of conformity) with the offer. If a specific certificate is mandatory, please state it in your enquiry.
Production & materials
How is a pallet manufactured?
Standardised process. Define size and load → choose material (softwood/hardwood) → cut boards and blocks/stringers → machine assembly (nails/staples) → quality control → optional drying/HT (ISPM 15) → marking and delivery.
Do you produce pallets from hardwood?
Yes. Besides spruce/fir/pine, we also produce in beech/hornbeam when higher durability or a specific application is required.
Can you make pallets or crates to measure?
Yes. We work from drawings or specifications (dimensions, weight, handling, stacking) and advise on optimal construction and cost.
Can you produce a more economical pallet?
Yes. We offer cost-efficient variants for one-way or return use (fewer boards, thinner/narrower elements, lower load). Safety and required function remain the priority.
Construction, dimensions & load capacity
What is the load capacity of a pallet or crate?
It depends on design and use. Size, wood species, board layout and handling mode (static/dynamic) affect capacity. For each order we recommend a construction and provide a capacity estimate.
Can you make American (stringer) pallets for the US market?
Yes. We manufacture stringer pallets (e.g. 48×40 in / 1219×1016 mm) and other US sizes, with ISPM 15 HT and the required mark for export.
What is the difference between EUR/EPAL and one-way pallets?
EUR/EPAL are standardised, robust and exchangeable in pooling systems, usually with higher capacity and price. One-way pallets are made to measure, typically lighter and more cost-effective for single-direction deliveries.
Do you produce oversized/large pallets?
Yes. We make small and large formats to measure, aligned with your product, transport method and racking system.
Can you recommend the optimal pallet type for our product?
Of course. Send dimensions, weight, storage/transport method (forklift, racking), conditions (moisture, export) and budget — we will propose the best option.
Wooden crates
How are wooden crates manufactured?
Modular and custom. Define dimensions and payload → choose materials (boards, OSB/plywood) → frame & cladding → reinforcements (corners) → closing/lid → QC → optional ISPM 15 treatment.
How do I choose the optimal crate for my products?
Match crate to the load and route. Consider size/weight, fragility, transport mode (sea/road), reusability, stacking/strapping, sealing and budget. We advise open or closed type, thickness and reinforcements accordingly.
Can you build a crate strong enough for our product?
Yes. We use thicker boarding, battens instead of blocks, longitudinal/cross ribs, double corner pieces, metal fittings, extra decks or plywood — per required capacity and handling method.
What is the difference between open and closed crates?
Open (latticed) crates are lighter and more economical, suitable for goods that “breathe”. Closed crates (boarded/OSB/plywood) better protect against dust, moisture and damage — ideal for small, sensitive or valuable items.
Pallet collars
What are the standard pallet collar sizes?
Most common: 1200×800 mm and 1200×1000 mm, segment height 100–300 mm, with galvanised hinges. On request we also supply 800×600×200 mm.
What are pallet collars used for?
Modularity and protection. Collars convert a pallet into a modular crate; they protect goods, allow vertical stacking, quick open/close and space-saving storage (collapsible). Excellent for returnable packaging and small/sensitive goods.
Logistics, capacity & orders
Is transport included in the price?
Not by default (EXW). Unless otherwise stated. On request we include transport in the offer.
Can you arrange transport?
Yes. We organise delivery via trusted carriers — from single shipments to larger runs — in Croatia and abroad.
Do you have capacity for large production volumes?
Yes. We scale capacity and plan production in phases. For larger projects we agree a delivery cadence (weekly/monthly).
Where can I buy custom pallets?
Directly from us. Send dimensions and quantities via the contact form or email — we will reply with an offer and lead time.
DIY & pallet furniture
How to build pallet furniture safely?
Safety first. Use new or clean HT (ISPM 15) pallets. Sand, round sharp edges, reinforce joints, finish (varnish/oil/paint) and add anti-slip pads. On request we can supply pre-processed elements.
Need custom pallets or crates with ISPM 15?
Send your specification (dimensions, quantities, application) and request a quick quote.
